However, there are many things involved in writing such. On many occasions when you are putting up an argument, people are not buying what you are writing or saying just because it is the truth. Readers usually tend to look at the beauty of what you are putting into words and how sophisticated and stylish it is. This is why you have to do everything possible to garnish your argumentative paper with numerous stylistic devices. There are many of them, but we will treat only 7 of the most popular ones. Rhetorical question This is actually one of the best stylistic devices you can attract attention to your argument with. It is the concept of asking questions for the simple sake of making an effect, and not because you need an answer. It is used to emphasize a thing that is already known, and it does the job of drawing attention or making the audience reflect over the mentioned issue. For example, who will defend the poor if the government does not involve itself in it?. Metaphor This is another great stylistic device. Here, you try to identify a word or phrase as a similar thing to something it does not have any relationship with. It is still a rhetorical tool used to draw attention to a particular situation. It simply highlights the similarities between the two, which may not be existent after all. An example of a metaphor is orange is the new black. Parallelism This is another great device you must form the habit of using here. You try to draw some parallel between parts of the same sentence. It involves using similar structure/construction in several clauses. This is mainly used to give a good pattern to the passage. An example is what you do in the dark will be revealed, what you do in the open will be revealed. Irony Irony is a good device that entails using an expression to give an opposite meaning. Here, what you say is exactly the opposite of what you mean. This is used to show some emphasis and actually bring some level of humor to your argumentative essay. For example, I hate life because it is very sweet. Repetition Another very important device that is used in the course of argumentative essays. Here, you simply repeat words within the same poetic line or within the same sentence in no particular order. This has a way of making the sentence or even phrases very emphatic and also beautiful to read. Many people do not see this as a stylistic device or figure of speech, but that is actually what it is. For instance what is worth doing is worth doing well. Personification This is described as the concept of attributing the characteristics of human beings to animals and inanimate objects. You make it look as if they have human feelings and behavior. This will always make your narrative more lively and interesting. And that is what your argumentative essay needs to make it less official-like and more reader-friendly. An example is ââ¬Å"The proofs hang over this statement to crash it when the time comes. Hyperbole This is the stylistic device for argumentative writing that is also known as deliberate exaggeration. It is seldom used, and it simply means the use of highly exaggerated terms to draw emphasis and attention to your message. An example is The room was seemingly capable of holding millions of people. So, all in all if you are good at argumentative paper writing without these stylistic devices, itââ¬â¢s certainly more than great. A will cannot conflict itself if it determines itself a priori. By determining its morals before the benefit of experience, it determines itself simply that it exists as it is. Intuitively, anything pure cannot conflict with itself just as the idea of good cannot conflict with itself and be somehow partly bad (437). Thus by simply being, without any other influence determining it, the will is an end in itself (437). A will acting out of duty, or in other words on its own internal principles, can not conflict with another will simply because it does not depend on the other will. In order to conflict, something must first interact. And if two wills are acting in accordance with duty, then they each recognize each other as an end in itself, and therefore do not interact on the level of morality (438). Just as a self-sufficient village with no roads leading to or from can not conflict with another village simply because it needs not and cannot interact, a self-sufficient will, and therefore determined with no external influence, can also not conflict with anther will acting out of duty. Though if something is not self-sufficient, it requires another object to fulfill its ends. As with the village, if it needs to conquer a neighboring villageââ¬â¢s farmland in order to feed itself, conflict arises. Similarly, should a will not be determined a priori, but instead based on external circumstances, then a will must use another will to fulfill its needs, and therefore would conflict with the autonomy of the second will.

He was the grandson of grandson of Charles Henry Langston, the brother of John Mercer Langston, who was the the first Black American to be elected to public office in 1855. Hughes attended Central High School in Cleveland, Ohio, but began writing poetry in the eighth grade, and was selected as Class Poet. His father didn't think he would be able to make a living as at writing, and encouraged him to pursue a more practical career. His father paid his tuition to Columbia University on the grounds he study engineering. After a short time, Langston dropped out of the program with a B+ average, all the while he continued writing poetry. His first published poem was also one of his most famous, "The Negro Speaks of Rivers", and it appeared in Brownie's Book. Later, his poems, short plays, essays, and short stories appeared in the NAACP publication Crisis Magazine and in Opportunity Magazine and other publications. One of Hughes' finest essays appeared in the Nation in 1926, entitled "The Negro Artist and the Racial Mountain". It spoke of Black writers and poets, "who would surrender racial pride in the name of a false integration", where a talented Black writer would prefer to be considered a poet, not a Black poet, which to Hughes meant he subconsciously wanted to write like a white poet. ââ¬Å"THE E-MYTH REVISITEDâ⬠ENTRE 300. WB1 Naim Alââ¬â¢Ali 3/11/13 The E-Myth revisited gave some wonderful insight as to the root cause of why most small businesses go under and don't work. I learned a great deal by reading it and it has given me foresight as to what I need to improve in my skill set to become the best entrepreneur I can be without sabotaging anything of value to my business.The book focuses primarily on the entrepreneurial myth which is involved in a fatal assumption that the success of a business rides purely on the entrepreneurââ¬â¢s desire to own a business, the amount of capital he/she puts in, and Knowing the amount of targeted profit. The book teaches that this assumption could spell disaster rather than success. It also teaches us that the future of small businesses revolve around three concepts which are knowing the e-myth, understanding the turnkey revolution, and understanding the business development process.One of the most important concept s I learned from this book was the actual e-myth itself. Prior to reading the book, I too had this very same notion that was directly comparable to what is explained in the myth. This forced me to think differently about what actually makes a business successful because if not for this book I would have this in the dark feeling. The book talks about how entrepreneurs should get in the habit of thinking more about the business itself, the people involved in it, and the phases it normally undergoes. Having knowledge of these things can have a beneficial impact of your business.A second key concept that I learned from the book was that of the three main characters which are the technician, the manager, and the entrepreneur. The technician is an expert in whatever craft they are in and doesn't mind doing the work but neglects other responsibilities of going into business even though they are eager to do so. The manager is detail oriented and wants a well organized environment that is ve ry predictable. The entrepreneur is the dreamer, who sets out to do something new and who often lives in the future and get frustrated by how ââ¬Å"slow the world is moving.The book teaches us that these are not separate people but rather distinct elements of our personalities. It also says that the reason why most small businesses donââ¬â¢t work is because they are run by a technician or someone who knows the technical workings of the business but neglects the other two equally important personalities. So the bottom line is that even though we are biased towards one of these personalities, we all have them and to be successful, you need to be able to utilize all three of these roles. All of these roles are necessary in the founder of a business.Without the entrepreneur, you might as well keep working for someone as a technician. Without the technician, the entrepreneur must rely on other people to get things done and without the abilities of a manager; the other two characters would find themselves in a disorganized and non functional environment. A third important concept that I learned from this books is the idea to ââ¬Å"work on your business rather than in it. â⬠This was a big one for me and it really stuck out because it opened my eyes to how many business owners are really just doing a job for their business rather than running it.For example, if you start a business where you can't leave when u want because work will be unfinished, then you are not actually working on your business as an owner but rather as an employee. This could put a strain on other things that may have been planned for your business. It also hinders other abilities since so much time has to be put in for you to get paid. I couldn't agree more with this statement because it seems like for a lot of business owners think they are in business for themselves but if they don't work, they don't eat and that is not being a business owner.This also ties into class discussions whe n it pertains to one of the biggest problems with part time entrepreneurs is the risk of burnout because of all the extra activity you have to put into you business to keep it running. In essence, what the book is saying is that they don't own a business, they own a job and you canââ¬â¢t close it when you want because you won't get paid, you canââ¬â¢t leave when you want because work won't get done, and you canââ¬â¢t sell it when you want because no one wants to buy a job. A fourth and final concept I took from this book was the importance of the business development process.This process is the response of the ever changing dynamics of the business world and will equip an entrepreneur with the necessary tools they need to adapt to the continuous changes happening around them. The book described three elemental stages which are innovation, quantification, and orchestration. This is also a powerful concept that I particularly agree with. The book explains that innovation is t he creativity applied to products or services to make them better and that continuous innovation is needed to improve your business.Quantification is figuring out what works for your business and being able to measure whether it is worth taking the risk. Orchestration is the standardization of what works and becomes the essential part of your business that everyone learns and knows so that it can produce consistent quality for your customers. This is really important information to have because its uniform and itââ¬â¢s a streamline way of tackling issues head on. This also ties into what we have learned in class about having a solid plan of attack. As it says in the book, ââ¬Å"any plan is better than no plan at allâ⬠, and this couldn't be anything more than truth.Although I would much rather suggest having a well thought out plan that could be of some benefit rather than a half-way done plan that could demolish your business. With all of these concepts I have learned in th e book, I had to sit back and ask myself what I will do with this information. One thing I would definitely take heed to is the notion of being able to work on my business instead of in it because I don't want to be stuck in a job for the rest of my life in order to put food on the table. So I would much rather design a system that can continue to pay me even if Iââ¬â¢ve taken some time off.Another thing I could use these concepts for is when formulating my business plan/plans for this class and in the future so that I have strategy to uphold rather than letting the chips fall where they may. A third thing I could uses these concepts to move forward with is with getting out of the mythical mind frame that has cost countless business owners their livelihoods and to start thinking differently on where success in a business actually stems from rather than generalizing the solution to just the entrepreneurial aspect. This will alter my attitude towards conducting business and ultimat ely prove to be better for me in the long run.Finally, I would use this information to better understand what type of business person I need to be in order to deal with the ever changing business world. This could help me adapt to situations that I wouldnââ¬â¢t normally know how to handle having not been exposed to the reality of it. All in all, there wasn't too much I disagreed with when it came to the material in this book, so I can safely say it will be a driving force in my business prowess and my future. William Wordsworth once said, ââ¬Å"Life is divided into three terms - that which was, which is, and which will be. Many poems are significant because of the writing that is portrayed for our pleasure using our emotions. Characters from different novels tend to have the same characteristics that poems have. Kiplingââ¬â¢s poem, ââ¬Å"The White Manââ¬â¢s Burdenâ⬠, written and published in 1899, speaks about the power that one race has over another. The character Heathcliff from the novel, Wuthering Heights, depicts the characteristics shown throughout this poem. Kiplingââ¬â¢s poem articulates superiority and responsibility by the use of language, form, and meter. The first eight lines explains how the colonizers are cast as victims. ââ¬Å"To waitâ⬠, signifies only the patient one will be served. By waiting they are waiting like a waiter or a server.
